FAQ- (Frequently Asked Questions)
Q: Does joining ATIC cost anything?
A: No. There are no fees to join ATIC. Joining ATIC is absolutely free.
A: Click HERE or on the link under the Covenant on the Home page. You will then be redirected to a page that asks you to complete an online questionnaire. Once you complete the questionnaire you should receive a response from an ATIC Moderator within 24-48 hours containing your ATIC
Q: Why does ATIC have to approve new members?
A: ATIC Moderators made the decision to moderate members for several good reasons: spammers can be rejected, automatic signups can be rejected, and people who don't understand ATIC's mission can be redirected to resources that would better meet their needs. Also, ATIC Moderators want to keep the network as safe and user-friendly as possible. In order to do this they need to be able to verify the identity of all users.
A: No. The information you provide on the New Member Questionnaire will be used solely by ATIC Moderators to evaluate your application for membership. Your information will not be shared with other parties without your notification.
A: In order to keep the content of the Databases uncluttered, private and less likely from being abused you will be required to have a Moderator approved username and password in order to access them.
A: After you sign into ATIC using the Member Sign In link you will be redirected to ATIC's Databases page, which features links to databases containing tangible goods people need or have to offer, services people need or have to offer, employment opportunities, training opportunities, prayer requests and an ATIC event calendar.
Q: How do I post info to the Databases if I want to offer something or am in need of something?
A: If you want to post to a Database, click on the link at the bottom of the page where you want your post to appear. That should open a blank, preaddressed email. In the email:
1. Describe the item or service you want to post.
2. Identify whether you need the item/service or if you are offering the item/service.
3. Give your general location in town (e.g. Georgetown, Foster Park, Dupont, etc.)
4. Give your name.
5. List the email address you would want an interested individual to use for contacting you.
6. Click "send" to send the email to the appropriate ATIC Moderator.
7. Allow ample time for the moderator to process and post your request. This could be within a few minutes, but could take as
long as 24-48 hours, as Moderators are all volunteers.
8. Watch your email inbox for email responses directly from interested individuals.
9. Choose which individual you are most comfortable connecting with and make arrangements via email. (*Phone contact may
also be used if you want to share your phone number with that person via email.)
10. Once your item has been taken or your need has been met, please return to the appropriate Database and click the link to
email the ATIC Moderator and notify him/her to delete your post.
Q: I am in need of something, but would rather remain anonymous. Is that possible?
A: Yes, you may post a request anonymously if you have already applied to be a member of ATIC. In order to do that, please call Becky Baker at Fellowship Missionary Church. She can be reached at (260)447-3578.
Q: Do I have to give my item to the first person to respond? Do I have to accept the first offer to meet my need?
A: No. ATIC Moderators hope that decisions about how to give and receive will be Spirit led. If you are in doubt of who to give to, please spend some time praying about it. If you are unsure whether to accept something from someone, ask the Lord. The ATIC Moderators would love to hear feedback about how God guides giving and receiving among our body!
